The 40th annual Dragon Skin will be at Penrose State Forest to the south of Sydney near Mittagong from the 18th April to the 21st of April 2025.
The theme for 2025 will be "The Best of the Best", each Venturer Overnight Camp (VOC) will be revisiting the Best of the Best themes from the past 40 years of Dragon Skin.
Are you not the Greatest? Are you not the best of the best? We think you can be, your team might win the coveted Skin, or maybe you will just do you best, you will at the very least have the BEST TIME at the most fantastic Venturer Scout event of all time, join us as we go all out and show the world WE ARE THE GREATEST, at Dragon Skin 2025 Best of the Best!
Who Can Join a Team and Compete at Dragon Skin?
• Registered Venturers aged 14 to 18 Years
• Registered Guides aged 14 to 18 Years
• Invited School Teams undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award as a part of a school program.
At least one member of each team must hold a current first aid qualification.
All team members must have their Introduction to Scouting, Introduction to Section, Stage 3 in Camping, Stage 3 Bushcraft and Stage 4 Bushwalking. or have the equivalent skills (non-Venturers)
Teams should have at least four (4) and may have up to seven (7) members
All team members must check in together at ONE location
Can’t find a full team? Don’t worry! Understrength teams and even individual applications are still very welcome. We will place you with other understrength teams to make up a full team at check-in.

How Much Does It Cost?
A common fee of $150 per team member applies, or $130 for early bird registrations. This is payable via the On-Line Event Management System (OLEMS).
How To Enter
Every team member must complete an individual online application via OLEMS. As part of the Team Leader’s application, they will be able to create the team.
The Team Leader will need to know the names of all team members (correct spellings) and their Scout Membership Numbers
Once all Team Members have paid in full, with complete and accurate applications (ie fully signed by participant and their parents/guardians, and the Venturer Leader has completed the online endorsement), a team confirmation will be emailed back to the Team Leader and will include how to get all the information needed to plan for the event, as well as details on when and where to check-in.
Pre Skin Activity
The Pre-Skin activity is a way for your team to get together and work together before skin.
In 2025, Dragon Skin is going to be The Best of The Best so check back here later on to see what the pre-skin activity will be.
You will get 50 bonus points for submitting a pre-skin activity and there are prizes for the best submissions showing creativity and effort.
